Programming change at 960 - The Quake

Just a quick alert that "Broadway's Biggest Hits," which formerly aired on KABL until that station's exit, returns to the Bay Area this weekend.

It replaces "Speed Freaks" between 7 and 9 p.m. Sunday on 960 - The Quake and provides a a more suitable lead-in to the local "(BLEEP) Channel" show at 9 p.m.

"Broadway's Biggest Hits" mixes contemporary Broadway music with interviews with Broadway stars.

Show tunes followed by the gay show -- that's pretty funny, actually. But Mr Wilkinson does a fine show.

Wouldn't that program be a better fit on KCEA the Big Band station, or does CC own the program?

Broadway's Biggest Hits is an independently owned, commercial, syndicated show that airs on AC, news/talk and nostalgia stations in the U.S. and Canada, including KOY in Phoenix, KEZW in Denver, WOKY in Milwaukee, WDRC in Hartford and more. Like all commerical shows, it depends upon ratings - and ad sales - to survive, so being on low-rated or non-rated stations doesn't make much sense.

By the way, I'm informed by one of this board's moderators that auto-censor software used by the board changed the title of the program that comes after Broadway's Biggest Hits on The Quake to "(BLEEP)Channel" and that it can't be over-ridden to put the actual title back on the board. Such is technology.
