Programming Changes at KGO

Who is the voice that replaced Lonnie at KGO? Who is the voice at KQED? Just curious, nothing personal. In truth good promo voices are versatile enough to add attitude or vary delivery based on the direction given. The sound KGO now has is what they asked for and in fact might adjust as people evaluate whether this is working for them.

Very good comments on a variety of thoughts on this thread. There was a time when nobody bothered to care about AM thinking it was all hopeless. Now as some stations wake up, even if it seems late, at least there is some thought be given. Could be worse.

Re: voting, David, I have seen it. When you have a couple 300 quarter hour diaries, it's obvious.

How many of those are in-tab in any book, if any?

There are specific edit rules that put many such diaries under scrutiny, too.

I don't recall seeing more than a couple of such diaries in the last 40 years.

I had two of them in tab in a book a few years back. It was stunning, and really had an impact when those went away.

In the diary those rare 300-400 QH listeners are only there for a week, and are only in tab for a week. Every diarykeeper "goes away" after a week.

I realize that professor, however, I did have a book that had a couple 300 QH diaries that showed up on PD Advantage. The next period, I had 1 300 QH diary show up. Thanks for the education, but I have known for decades that diary keepers go away after a week.

Sorry, I thought part of your point was that a diary or two like that would materially change ratings, which in a market with the number of diaries that the SF MSA would not likely be the case.

I watched a few of those heavy quarter hour listeners be recontacted to verify; the cases were stay-at-homes who had the radio on 12 to 15 hours a day. These cases were definitely not "voting."
