Programming Changes - KWFM 1330 AM

I don't understand. If the shows were already booked at a set rate would there be an enforceable contract stating such? And wouldn't the station be guilty of breach-of-contract if they raised the rate without contractual permission?

Let's stand by for the fan girl to defend Dawn Avalon on this, I'm sure there's a logical reason someone would do something that would make any Radio GM look like a complete moron. It's all part of the plan right? Best part is these comments on how the station is "moving up!" and taking Alan Michaels on to continue the momentum. Yet depth charges keep going off around those claims, sinking any possible legitimacy of any of it.

Matt Russel is quite well off financially with his famous father and all, I doubt a simple rate hike would have scared him off. But 40% out of nowhere? This was an all out slap to his face. Once again proving that this is the way these wackos continue to do business.

Last show going belly up, New OPs manager brought on as a 10-99, GM missing and unable to be reached for comment on any business move she's done for the last year. Hmmmmm Sounds like someone should stick a fork in this goose. Cause it's cooked!

Looks like John C Scott and the rest of his crew were right all along.

I bet the restaurant show had a decent local following. They even ran a repeat of it I believe. Has been running for several years starting with Zeman/Tyler's version of it. Probably going all music. I wish Alan a lot of luck. Clearly there are some issues that are going to complicate matters but if they allow him to do the job they hired him for, I believe he can be successful in this venture.

The urinating contest that has erupted in every online comment section of any story posted on this subject just proves there are people who follow, listen to, and care about this station. Maybe a small group but pretty loyal which explains the outcry over every change this station has made in the last dozen years. I just feel bad about the great team that used to be there that is no longer there.

Some other changes in this market have barely been a blip on the radar and there is so much heated discussion on 1330. Just interesting the personalities and interest for what has never been much more than a blip on the ratings. I think a lot of people somehow felt some sort of connection to the Jolt. Interesting from a marketing and business standpoint.

I haven't spoken with Dawn Avalon or Alan Michaels since Russell departed. Probably he refused to pay like so many others who had shows there. Most skipped without paying. Even the great John C. Scott skipped without paying. Avalon has the bad check hanging in her office.

RadioWitten is known for fabricating stories. Calling the GM a moron and everyone who works there wackos, just isn't right. Stay on topic "Programming Changes" and afford us the common courtesy of keeping personally directed negative remarks out of it .

I agree with SoAZDude2. I wish Alan luck. I believe he can be successful at KWFM.

Thanks for telling us the other side of the story, not told by the star.
