Programming goof by KOGO

One of the best Political Talk Shows on Sunday afternoon was Beyond The Beltway; a stalwart
on KOGO for many many years. And a couple of months ago, Cliff Albert decides to drop it
for a weekend sports show starring Lee "Hacksaw" Hamilton. Unfortunately, [EDIT] Albert
forgot to tell Hacksaw about it.. It was a cold day in hel* when Hamilton showed up, notoriously
absent during the NFL draft. Well, the weekend sports show was quickly yanked, and Clear Channels'
Weekend with McConnell being replayed.. HEY CLIFF! STOP WHINING ABOUT HOME DEPOT BEING BUILT
IN YOUR NEIGHBORHOOD AND START PROGRAMMING THE RADIO!

Cliff's not a programmer: he was a news director who hung around long enough to gain a promotion in an organization that doesn't necessairly give management jobs to those who are best qualified for them.

And yes, as an alleged manager of a news and other operations at a company owning so much of the local media he really is way off base with his public protests over the Home Depot. No matter how much he hates that, ethics should dictate that he keep his mouth shut.

Umm... so this is all about a weekend show being aired twice? Mike McConnell isn't half bad. Now if Glenn Beck got more airtime... can't (and don't) people who want to hear Dr. Laura listen live on KFI, rather than falling for this so-called "San Diego Edition"?

Cliff Albert is getting weirder by the minute.. So he tries a new liberal talk show in the Sunday 4-6pm slot called The Randi Crawford show.. It's your usual touch-ee feel-ee liberal show about disciplining children (along the same lines as famous bed wetter Larry Himmel)

Does this mean KOGO is having revenue probs? A sure winner in that slot was nationally syndicated Beyond The Beltway.. Albert tries McConnell reruns, now a bed wetting program.. What could the matter be with Cliff Albert? Is the "Home Depot in his back yard" situation causing him Insomnia that affects his corporate decision making?

Cliff Albert is getting to be pretty ridiculous defending a mobile home park. KOGO these days sounds as boring and the antithesis of creativity as he is. Lately CC's news talk station in Sacramento is booming into Dago at night. Now THEY sound hot.

Cliff was a good journeyman news reader but they should not let him be an idea guy. To paraphrase what someone once said about Air Force General Curtis LeMay, "If we're going into war, I'd want him in the lead bomber, but I don't want him to be the one who decides IF the bombers need to be used."
