Programming Temporarily Suspended on COX-15

The roof caved in at the building housing COX Public Access channel 15 in Cheshire, Connecticut the other day. No one was injured, but programming on Channel 15 has been suspended until further notice. Channel 15 out of Cheshire serves Cheshire, Southington, and Meriden.

A message on Channel 15 acknowledges the above, apologizes for the inconveinence, and mentions that it's business as usual at their Customer Service office on East Main Street in Meriden.

They ought to stunt with a loop of the video for Taylor Swift's "Fifteen" song while they're off the air... ::)

My cable access channel is 18, and every so often I think of doing a promo with the Alice Cooper lyrics, "18 and I like it". :)

My buddy that I help that runs the town public access channel Comcast-20 here in Wallingford said he and others had to evacuate the building that houses the station and other town organizations due to fears that the roof was going to come down on them. Everything will be up and running on monday the 14th .

That channel has one of the best set-ups for municipal board meetings. All meetings are in the town hall auditorium with board members sitting in a row on the stage, the department head sits to the side of the board and townspeople speaking at a mic in front. The set-up is consistent, the video is clean, you can clearly hear the audio, and it allows for a smooth, multi-camera production. Many boards in other towns insist on conditions that are not feasible for video taping with even one camera. Scott Hanley has been doing an excellent job with Wallingford's government channel for more that 20 years.
