The new WGHP-TV 8 (8.2) is going to start on Jan.1 ,2011 by airing a "Three Stooges" Marathon. They will then air a weekend Marathon of the "Benny Hill" show. Their daily schedule will include shows like "Maude", "The Jeffersons", "Burns And Allen", "Rin Tin Tin", "Lassie","All In The Family", ""The Partridge Family", "The Brady Bunch" ,"The Monkees", "Circus Boy", etc. Along with some Golden Holly wood Movies from the 1930`s-1940`s. Reminds me alot of the old WGHP-TV 8 from 40 years ago! Very COOL that these programs are coming back locally!

Yes, to begin with WGHP-TV 8 (8.2) will air the entire Antenna TV feed. Howver, they are in the process of buying some Old TV packages ("I Love Lucy","Beverly Hillbillies",etc.) that will also air on WGHP-TV 8 (8.2). Also, WGHP has the rights to air any of these programs on WGHP 8.1 if they wish to. Go to www.wgn.com to see the entire Antenna TV lineup.

I left out Quad`s favorite show "Good Times",along with "Hazel", The Flying Nun", "Gidget","Father Knows Best","Three`s Company", "Dennis The Menance", "Please Don`t Eat the Dashies", "Doris Day Show" and more coming to WGHP-TV 8 (8.2).

Are these new subchannels kind of like HD Radio subchannels?

Do they put any effort into promoting these and does anyone watch?
I'm not even trying to make cracks at it I just find these channels very strange but somewhat fascinating at the same time

When is "Sandra Hughes' Dance Party" going to fire it up?
That was the first salvo in this new retro-channel programming war. Her "retirement."

rf_chaser,
If GoodTimes works there, you'd think they would do better training or something. Maybe they're bringing him along slowly?
LMAO

Yes, I will now announce that Quad will be the new host of "Romper Room" on WGHP-TV 8 (8.2).

No, I don`t work at WGHP-TV 8, but know some who do. As far as the history of WGHP-TV 8 goes, I remember much from a kid growing up here in the 1970`s. I remember that WGHP had many situation comedies in the afternoon, along with "Dialing For Dollars". For most of the 1970`s, WGHP was unique that it never aired alot of the ABC soaps! I think they only aired "General Hospital" (by week-old tape delay) early in the mornings. For the majority of the afternoons they aired their own programming. I know that this practice went on until about 1978. WGHP was also home of "Shock Theater", reruns of "Star Trek" every day as well. I remembering all of the kids in the neighborhood wondering when Jo Nelson was going to call THEIR house on "Dialing For Dollars"-LOL.
