Progressive host Jay Diamond Exits WRKO-AM/Boston

I was absolutely shocked to find this out today! Jay's last WRKO-AM Saturday show was apparently several weeks ago!

There is more info on the Boston board. The reason I bring this up on the ntl board is that I think Diamond has strong potential for national syndication. I think Doc9464 (MD?PhD?) had suggested Diamond for syndication or as a local morning host for various local stations.

For those of you reading this who know of Jay's potential as a liberal host, what are your thoughts?

Dec 2 was right around the time we found out about it. As it was
he was often pre-empted for soccer or other sports.

could be, AAR/Jones-type stations or maybe even stations that are
mostly conservative but want to try something different on weekends
(if he does a weekend show...he might want to do a daily show somehow though(

One source--Boston Radio Watch, I believe--said he had been upset at always
getting pre-empted and I think maybe he was the one who decided to leave,
rather than being let go by mgmt.<P ID="signature">______________
