KJFK, 1230 to become Swag 104.9 and 1230

All Acc announced that KJFK, 1230, progressive talk is going away. It appears that 104.9 will couple with 1230 and the Hip Hop format will move there. On 97.3, the Hip Hop format had a Very good fall book...curious as to why it was blown up after 97.3 was finally getting good ratings for first time in many years? Hard to sell?? No word on 97.3 yet. If any of you Reno-Carson people hear the new 97.3 format please post! I was there last week and I'm chomping at the bit as to the new format.

The Fall book was 97.3's best book, but it wasn't particularly good. It was enough to tie for 9th 12+, and it likely did poorly in the money demos. So, yes, it had to have been a tough sell.

No word on 97.3 yet. If any of you Reno-Carson people hear the new 97.3 format please post! I was there last week and I'm chomping at the bit as to the new format.

There have been a few domains registered for 97.3, including one for "Click 97.3." Click 97.3 would indicate some form of modern or hot AC, but it seems like that could be a smokescreen as Americom already has Alice @ 96.5. I'd have to think that format would cut into Alice too much.
