Promotion gone awry?

If true, this has the makings of a classic "radio promotions" story...

I have it on pretty reliable authority WRVR listeners are currently destroying Orgill Park in Millington trying to find the 'Jingle Bell Rock". Apparently they got tired of walking around the grounds looking and are now driving all over the grass looking. <P ID="signature">______________

I have lived in Millington for 10 years now and been to Orgill several times. It is a very big park. I wonder if they yelled out "fore" while driving on the golf course. lol

I guess someone found it.

I went by there this morning. It wasn't too bad. That's a great promotion, but the liability is enourmous. I wonder how the Entercom lawyers greenlit it.

Some station did something similar in the late 60s or early 70s regarding hiding something. The only thing I can remember was that it tied in with the car dealership on Union in the building that's now the West precinct for the Memphis Po-po.

Can't remember which station. Any other old-timers out there remember what I'm thinking about?
