Mike Martin will be relocating to the City of Angels over the next month. Congrats young man! I like what you've done with your San Fran cluster over the past year (especially KYLD) and apparently others do too.

What will Mr. Martin be doing in L.A.?

My guess would be making life hard for the PD's and deejays at the CCLA Cluster. Heard quite a few stories about him, and if they're true, Burbank could become quite uncomfortable.

The Dark Knight moves South...Should be quite the time in LA.

Even though he was in LA in the 80's I'm hearing he's not that happy about the move.
Heard he will only be supervising LA now.

Well now that KYLD is doing poorly Its better that he leaves. KYLD is appearing to switch formats so maybe they are cleaning out house and that includes getting rid of Michael Martin.

Yes, that's it, the real reason for his move to LA was because of KYLD's ratings. Huh...? But seriously, SF's Gain is LA's loss...

I'm looking at the ratings right now and i'm trying to figure out how one could say KYLD's numbers are not terrific at the present time.
They are at historic highs in San Jose (extremely meaningful for a station with a format like Wild) and they have solid numbers in the rest of the Bay. But, then again, who cares about the facts when posting.

Where in the heck did you hear that? He's from LA and I hear he couldnt be happier. He gets to program stations again instead of running all over the country pushing down what he was told to push down. Michaels a great competitor and the regional thing took him away from that. I know he was less happy doing what he was doing before. Say what you want about him (doghouse fans) but his job in comnig to SF originally was to take down the mighty KMEL and he and the team he put in place did it.

That came from someone within. I'm not going to get into the personal aspects of why the move wouldn't desirable, that wouldn't be right. But I've heard things.

He won't be programming stations, but supervising the program directors in the LA cluster. That's not a bad thing, but several of those stations have fine PD's that have been winning without him there. Granted, he should be able to help them focus on their goals and for that I'm sure they'll welcome his help.

Oh boy.....the Boys Club gets bigger.........
Makes me wished I would've went for management a helluva lot early in my early years-Behind the mic has been a blast-but definitely not steady for my SF Radio journey..........

No Actually his Boss is John Hogan. Susan, his former boss, no longer oversees LA.

Look at those numbers again.
