Having been infirmed the last couple of months, I have returned to my usual spunk and lustre and would first like to wish the robust
tv news operations in Rochester, a very successful and prosperous Election night. I pose a question: which News Director in town is walking the
plank this book? Who is on paper thin ice with his upper management?
Observations: I love Jennifer Johnson's new hairstyle, very distinguished and fits her well. Who are some of these newbies 13 is putting
on the anchor desk--is it that bad over there? They still have a slick news presentation though. I still maintain that Mr. Axelbank is the next rising star to emerge from the Rochester market, loved his in-depth story last night on the Zogby operations it Utica. A terrific piece to open up November sweeps with. Elizabeth Harness has blossomed into a real pro. Brett Davidson can still turn as good a investigative piece as anyone in town. Good for channel 8 on traveling with the Bills, at least some operations still spend money.
In closing, I pose this question: How will the bleak economy heading into 2009 affect the local tv operations? Surely ad revenue will be
down, no politcal to fallback on. What will happen? That's it for now. Good luck to all on Election Night. I will be devouring your coverage
on Massa, Kuhl, Robach and Dollinger, etc, etc.......watching AND surfing, enjoying those blogs.
