I don't want to open a new post in the CHR/Rhythmic/Hip-Hop section to say this since KZON really isn't hip hop anymore, but they are currently still doing their Thanksgiving Mix that they started this morning.

101.5 Jamz is definitely more of a top 40 station now. The mixes consisted of half pop/hip-hop and half dance/house. I'd actually say more dance than slower pop.

I've noticed that 97.9 The Beat here in Dallas/Ft. Worth has watered down their format a tad bit. Not to the extreme of Power 106 but I've heard some cuts that I don't think K104 would touch.

They don't seem to have added as much dance or rhythmic pop as WQHT Hot 97 New York.
What are their mixshows like? Are they starting to use electro pop and house hits and remixes in mixshows like WVEE V103?

WLLD Tampa has also started adding huge electro-pop or dance hits as well, but not nearly as much as they used to back in the day.

Yes they have, here and there.

Funny you mentioned the slight tweak 97.9 made recently. Personally, I prefer K104 over 97.9 but that's only because I love Dede and Lady Jade. Anyhow, maybe the thought at RO is they can reach a larger audience by going Rhythmic Top 40. Power in LA, The Beat in SA and other Hip Hop stations that have made this similar adjustment seem to be doing better or have been able to hold their ground against the competition.
