At 5pm on March 31, Brown University's alternative rock95.5 WBRU/Providence flipped to variety hits "Buddy FM." "Buddy" refers to the two-time Providence mayor who is currently in prison.
But then, April Fools!
The alternative rock came back shortly after noon on April 1, ending one of the best pranks (a clean one, mind you) in Rhode Island radio history. So many listeners were distraught, definitely created a huge buzz in the market.
