I had no clue the *Rhode Island NewsChannel* (programmed by WLNE at the time) was on Channel 17 originally before moving to its longtime home on Channel 5, which I guess is a result of Boston's stations being dropped from the lineup.

Cox 3 still exists today as the *Ocean State Networks* (now programmed by WJAR), but as a result of that, NECN was and still hasn't been carried by Cox. I believe today, NECN is still out of Cox's lineup.

Also, WLNE is licensed to New Bedford, not Providence.
