Providence talkers of the past

I think at the top of everyone's list would be Sherm Strickhauser. Granted talk radio has changed since he's been on the air, but I wonder if he'd consent to being on youtube if he were alive today & still doing a show.

Someone will mention Steve White so I'll get it over with & you do have to give him credit for manufacturing controversy, but I always felt he was like a Geoff Charles without the common sense to know where to draw the line & stay employed.

Any others you remember listening to that stand out?

Kass man from WHJJ to early WPRO was good, Early Arlene was good, Rudy Cheeks in the 80's on the weekends on WHJJ was HILARIOUS, Buddy was very good as well, Sherm was a God send, Chuck Wilson sports talk was excellent (WEAN and WPRO)

jack comely-possibly RI's 1st talk show host

Eddy Beard-there's a guy who's completely fell off the planet

How about "Salty" Brine of WPRO AM? He was at PRO for 50 years or close to it. He was and still is the epitome of talk radio and no one will ever come close to filling those shoes! How many talk radio hosts have a beach named after them? We miss you Salty....

WOW! That was great! Thanks Holland for sharing that piece. It was good to see him again. What a local legend. Watching that piece was like being in a time warp; seeing PM Magazine again back in the 70's. Salty truely was a master at his craft!

is that sheila martineaz? should she be talking, looking at the camera and flipping the dial while she's driving? you know she's well over the .08
