This may be old hat to some of you, but I just started getting into listening to podcasts. I don't have an mp3 player but for me it's like TiVo on the radio. Public radio seems to be taking the lead in exploring this new technology. I use Apple's iTune's software which lets me set up "subscriptions" to programs and have them downloaded automatically. I can then listen whenever I want (or you can transfer them to an mp3 player if you have one).
Here are some of the main sites:
NPR Podcast Directory - includes some PRI and local programs.
http://www.npr.org/rss/podcast/podcast_directory.php
American Public Media Podcasts - includes Marketplace, American Radio Works and News From Lake Wobegone.

BBC Podcast Trial

Some local public radio programs are also podcast and listed on station websites. PRI's website unfortunately does not list podcasts. You can search for podcasts at http://podcasts.yahoo.com
