Public Radio Reveals Coke's "Secret Formula"

A public radio program, Chicago Public Radio's "This American Life" (distributed by PRI) had the scoop of the century (OK, the 19th century) this weekend and hardly anyone noticed.

Host Ira Glass revealed the "secret formula" for original Coca-Cola, which the Coca-Cola company claims to keep in a vault and which only a very few employees with "need to know" are allowed to see.

Is This the Secret Coke Recipe?

You can read or hear about it on the program's website but people are noticing and right now the site is overwhelmed and almost impossible to get on:
This American Life

That's part of the story - the fact that it was printed in a public forum, and yet nobody really seemed to notice.

I'd give the episode a listen; they address a lot of what you'd expect are the most likely questions you'd have about this story. Including what Coke's reaction was to it all. (surprisingly phlegmatic)

They ruined it when they started processing those leaves.
