Pueblo 95.5

Looks as if Pueblo's R&B station (95.5 KPHT) has switched to classic hits, as to replace the former Jet 107.9 for classic hits for Pueblo & Colorado Springs.

That signal is not good in COS...so that will be a classic hits station for Pueblo only...funny how the KDZA ratings came out and they were 4th 12+ BEFORE the change to rock...ha ha ha

Yeah, that was really smart: Flip the format, then don't even wait long enough to see results before flipping it again.

Typical corporate radio mentality.

Signal horrible today for some unknown reason in the Springs, some days good, today...nada! So far, music mix sounds similair to the defunct Jet 107.9, with perhaps a bit more 80's and less 60's.

KPHT will always have an inferior signal in Colorado Springs due to second adjacent KATC-FM 95.1. KPHT is required to protect KATC by approximatey 40 miles. KPHT was originally KAVI-FM and was assigned to Rocky Ford as a class A operating on 95.9, but was granted a C1 upgrade by moving frequency to 95.5 during the Docket 80-90 saga of the early 80s. Due to the required spacing between KHPT and KATC, KHPT could only move its tower to an area approximately 30 miles West/Southwest of city of license - Rocky Ford. This location places the KHPT 745 Foot tower approximately 60 miles South/Southeast of Colorado Springs - much to far for KHPT to place a primary signal over Colorado Springs. Even at 100kw, it barely places a primiary signal over Pueblo.

Plus, 95.7/Denver prevents them from moving further north.

I remember when the whole 80/90 upgrade thing was happening. "They're gonna be a Springs station!" Not happening.

Yes, and KPHT is required to protect a second adjancent C0 by approximately 130 miles... (I'm not looking at the minimum seperation chart to post the exact miles, but 130 is close if not exact).
