Pugs Moran interview

Pugs had a show with Kelly Mohr on KLLI Live 105.3, and they were briefly at KDBN The Bone before the format changed. He went to Dallas after he was fired in Chicago because Steve Dahl (a well-known Chicago radio guy) recorded their private conversations and played them on the air. Listen to the interview at http://podcast.radiogirl.us/2013/06/pugs-moran-from-chicago-to-dallas.html.

I edited this from his June 13th show on Deep Ellum On Air, which is why I'm on the phone 8) (His Deep Ellum show is at http://www.deepellumonair.com/pms.php).

Yes, he still lives in Dallas and is doing that online show, in addition to non-radio stuff. I asked him in the interview why he's not doing broadcast radio and he said he was offered on-air jobs in other markets but can't leave Dallas due to family obligations.

If he still seeks a career in terrestrial, to relive his DFW glory days.....Then he needs to take his kid, move to a new city, and get on real air. This mkt has nothing for him, nothing at all. DFW was a great résumé builder, and he should utilize it as that. The Pugs party is over, has been over, everyone has left, the band is gone, janitor has cleaned up, lights are on, sun is up, time to leave.

Labrador, Not living in my car you will be relieved to know. In my home in Highland Park and doing a daily show from the studios I have there. Things are going quite well at deepellumonair.com. Metroneck, thanks for the advice but I have been quite clear. I have zero interest in doing terrestrial radio ever again...Maybe posting that here will stop local Dallas radio management from calling my disinterested ass every time another lame corporate radio job opens up. You are right when you say "the parties over". Talk radio is terrible now and Terrestrial radio is not something I need anymore. I am lucky that between our daily local listeners and the 1000 or so out of market listeners I get by being a daily featured show on Justin tv ; well we are doing just fine. You were pretty insulting. I did a decade of top rated talk in this market and before that in Chicago. So I gotta ask, what makes you an authority on my career? Everybody knows me..I am not just being an anonymous expert.

I believe metroneck always wanted John Clay Wolfe in your spot on 105.3 back in the day... Just a hunch.

@ButtnPushr lol that certainly would explain alot! Pretty sure I know who it is. I have seen "metroneck" comments in the past and chuckled at the sheer bawlz of the posts. Maybe JCW will get Russ Martins slot next week when he is fired. At least they would be selling something in that timeslot...bwahahah!

Yeah, I'm sure your phone just NEVER stops ringing.... And, you were a producer in Chicago, not "doing" top rated radio, and your ratings at 105.3 were NEVER top rated, so let's not try and re-write history... Glad you are living the dream though with 1,000 listeners... Good luck to you...

Pugs, I'm not expert on your career, but I have been a on/off listener of yours from 105 to 93.3 to 1360 to 1190, and was rooting for you auditioning on The Fan awhile back. I'm no hater, my point simply is you can do it again, outside DFW. Best of luck

Good seeing Pugs doing well for himself even after dealing with the likes of Spittle...
