Puh-Leese!

Would somebody on the mid-south news giant tell the news-voice-trackers in Cincinnati or wherever they are how to pronounce "Helena - West Helena"? Everytime I hear it, I am embarassed for you.

Only if you tell the co-anchor on WMC-TV that it's Vollentine, not VolenTEEN.

Nope, just up the road from Milan.

QWEE-A-MAKA
Do I win what's behind door number three?
I lived in Southern CA during the late 80's and the locals pronounced it that weay.

And don't forget Ah-Lah-Mo (like Tony) instead of Alamo...and "Forkt Deer" instead of "Fork-ed Deer."
Some of these folks "Ain't from Around Here," Are they?

You're disqualified. Cheater. Go sit in the corner and listen to three hours of Ben Ferguson.

And it's more like kwee-ah-mahcah.

Or, for you big boys in Southern California ... it's not "La CANADA". It's "La Can-y-ada." Oh, and it's San LOOIS Obispo ... not "San LOOEY" ObisBO ...

I'm a Memphis transplant, so, hopefully, this counts.

Thank you. Now back to our regular programming.

San Loo-ISS does just fine for the natives here, thanks ... but you are, technically, correct.

It's also New Cwee-ama, not New Kye-ama.

We could fill a lot of pages with this. Maybe it would become a part of the Metro Networks Handbook.

You got me with this one. "New Cwee-ama?" Where the hell is Boulevard?

Whaddya expect?

She is voice-tracking from Gainesville, Florida!

From the WRVR site:

"When I'm not on the radio or meeting new friends in and around Memphis- my favorite pastimes including: cooking, baking, painting and making floral designs." Yeah, and living in Gainesville.

The lovely CeCe also crows about her award for "Outstanding Continuious Coverage of Hurricane George." You would think if there is one word they would spell correctly on the WRVR site, it is CONTINUOUS!
