I was reading the "I Miss" posts. WADV, WNSA... I'll tell you what I miss. I miss the almost daily rat-a-tat-tat posts on this board and the "insight" offered by the regular contributors.
About an hour and a half went by tonight and I noticed I'd racked up at least six quarter hours listening to Jack. It's not a bad Saturday night station for an mp3 player.
I was thinking how much better it might have been to listen to a live voice having some fun with the music... oh, but that might cost money and we know CBS is operating its Buffalo cluster on the cheap, cutting airstaff and dropping its shorts to get billing up.
On WJYE, Jack Ruby's distant cousin Lance Diamond sounds like he's trying too hard to be Barry White. Hey Lance... point of order... Barry's day-ud!
There are a couple of radio stations that sound like they're having fun on Saturday night. Mike Jacobson on WHTT sounds like a Kiss jock who grew up but still knows how to have fun playing songs that were on Kiss 20 years ago. I don't know what the hell WHTT is up to these days, but it's just weird enough to work... kinda like Jack with a gameplan and live jocks.
The station that sounds like it's having a good time on Saturday night is WYRK. Pop open a six of Pabst and let 'er rip.
