Pulled in KOOK-FM 93-5 Junction in Victoria

This is one of the best catches I've had, pulling in 93.5, a station based in Junction, while driving between Victoria and Cuero. I think KOOK-FM only puts out 3500 watts, so I was really impressed with this catch.

I also picked up XHRYS out of Reynosa, MX, 90.1 on Saturday morning. It was coming in like a local. Its wattage is only like 3kW, so again, I was extremely impressed.

Not to lessen your impressive catch, but while XHRYS's official power is 3kw, its near-perfect coverage of Hidalgo and Cameron counties leads me to believe it's putting out a little more - or possibly coming from a transmitter site closer to Matamoros than Reynosa.

According to Wikipedia, XHRYS puts out 82,500 watts. Of course you know how dependable wikipedia is. ::)

For me (and a lot of other people here) Fred Cantu is the go to guy for info on Mexican radio. This direct link to FM's by frequency lists the station as running 100,000 watts:
