Really doesn't appear to be doing all that well. Why? Lack of a morning show? Limited mix shows? Lack of general content and personality? Bad signal reach? I'll admit I thought they'd be doing a lot better than they are at this point, but on the other hand there isn't much to make them stand out. There just doesn't seem to be much life or content on air with the notable exception of the power lunch mix and I think the novelty is just wearing off.

Pulse 102

In my opinion, Pulse 102 is a good sounding CHR. They speed up the tempo on their songs and they sound really high energy. I don't think they'll climb to the top of any ratings, but it is nice not to be bombarded with endless commercials and morning chatter.
The showgram had it's heyday in the roaring 90's.
You can pick up the same morning "mash" on XM Radio.
I really hope Pulse doesn't add a morning show, it wouldn't really accomplish anything since the mother station WQDR consistently ranks high with it's morning "Q crew."

Pulse is doing well. You can't go by the 6+ ratings you get to see for free. They're averaging 190,000 listeners a week.
And, G105 and KISS have clearly lost listeners since Pulse signed on 9 months ago. Pulse has made a large impact in the 12-34 target demo. They've grown every month in the ratings since they signed on.
I don't think Pulse has the signal to be a huge station, but so far it is accomplishing its mission on impacting the market.
