Pulse 87.7

Yes, the signal pattern is the same for video and audio. Audio is going to be easier to pick up at low signal levels, so it will appear different. That helps WNYZ, but the pattern is still suspect.

I'd bet that anyone who would consider them a competitor will be investigating their power levels and pattern. I hope for their sake they're doing what they're supposed to.

Bridgeport was the furthest I could hear any trace of them. It could have been enhanced by tropo that night. There are no channel 6 stations to the northeast, so that should help. They have trouble going southwest because of the channel 6 in Philly. It would be hard to investigate its true antenna pattern by driving around because of the topography.

KZND-LP TV 6 (87.7) Anchorage (now KOAN-LP) was doing this first back in '99. It got actual ratings.

Yes, I believe it was rated as what it was... a TV station. Arbitron only rates licensed radio stations, licensed satellite channels, and web streames. It will be interesting to see if they believe that Pulse quialifies for radio ratings, and, later, if they give them a PPM encoder. The chances are considerable that the station will be disqualified from radio ratings because it is a TV station, subject to a different ratings system.

Does anyone even know if this station has been staffed yet?

Does anyone have any info on any contacts with anyone having anything to do with this station?

There is very little out there on the internet except for the initial press release in November announcing Star & Buc

Ok...I know the owner as he is a family friend. It was a Russian station before, but changed to increase popularity. As you know the Star and Buc Wild show is on it from 6-10 definatelly a hit. The music is fresh and new, and a lot of remixes. Fans of hip hop, dance, club music wont need any CDs after listening to this station.
