Yeah - the first TV station! :D

Of course it does but that doesn't change the fact that the license that allows it to broadcast is for LPTV and not radio.

The fact that their license if for TV doesn't really matter to most people, nor should it. In fact, I doubt most listeners even know or care.

In one of those quirks of radio nature, the posse at MEGA MEDIA Top 40/Dance PULSE 87/NEW YORK somehow got their hands on the new MADONNA single, "Four Minutes To Save The World," featuring JUSTIN TIMBERLAKE and TIMBALAND. [EDIT]

You guys might be on to something.

They should position themselves as "New York's Number-One Hit TV Station. Pulse 87 ... CHANNEL 6!"

is anyone else playing the Madonna track-or attempting to? I'm sure if Z100 demanded a copy, they'd get one delivered on a gold tray...

Not sure if they aired it but KYLD in SF has been posting the song in their MySpace bulletins for more than 2 days. All's one had to do was check their Temp Internet folder and the Mp3 was right there for anyone to have. I played it for the office Madonna fanatic and she said that this is the one that's been passed along for a while now. Not sure if it's the same one that Pulse is playing or not though.

My suggetion that this didn't need another thread has more to do with the fact that there are already a bunch of Pulse threads and this would have fit nicely in one of those. Of course, that's ultimately the moderators call not mine.

Hasn't the song been released in Europe already? I know a number of people that already have the track downloaded. Why is it like they "got their hands on something" forbidden..?
The song is all over the internet.

the CHR guys are still dreading having to say 'that's NEW from MADONNA"; would be nice, but I foresee an uphill struggle

according to all access the Warner bros sent Pulse a cease & desist. claiming "A final mix has yet to be delivered to radio."

Pulse had no problem saying it but perhaps Z100 will.
Ahhhh the sad state of US radio. So-so predictable!

pulse right now can say or play anything they want, at least until they get a 'pulse'

They have pulse already and then some!
One of the great things about Pulse is their edgy, unpredictability.
Attitudes like their's is what makes radio exciting or perhaps we should just put on another canned Delilah show.

I think what lalumia is saying is... sure they can do that now, cause few are paying attention... but if they want to be on the good side of labels and artists... they'll have to follow some written and unwritten rules... you screw over a label and they'll give all their breaking stuff to some other station or not deliver the artists to the station for interviews and such...

not to mention the fact that as of right now they have no ratings, therefor, nothing to lose(and for all we know, they now have more air personalities than they have listeners...lol...
