They're definitely in high demand! If Pulse 87 decided to sell those tickets directly for $100 each, Mega Media would be able to make a bigger profit.
Let's do the math. Cume of 600,000. If only 10% are passionate enough to want tickets, that's a demand of 60,000! Based on two tickets given away each hour from 10AM-12 midnight for 40 days in a row, that's 1120 tickets available. That means only 2% of the listeners that want to go will get a chance to go. I was lucky to get on "the list" early. I was caller 2, caller 5, and caller 7, all on the same phone during the first week of the giveaway, and Pulse 87 had announced only 4 artists that were relatively unknown. Now, winning tickets is about as hard as winning any money in Atlantic City. If you want to go for free, you must listen to Pulse for hours each day and have a good reaction time. Very few things can sell tickets on the secondary market for $300-500. There's definitely a demand for dance music in New York City. I'd love to see Pulse throw a concert in Central Park or in one of the many sports venues in the region.
You could wait till the summer when Party 105 announces its lineup for Mega Jam. Most of the same artists will perform there, and it'll be cheaper to get in and it will only be 60-80 miles away.
