PULSE 87: BRING RUBY TUESDAY ON EVERYDAY!

Now that Jewelz has left Pulse 87, it would be nice to hear another female voice during the lunchtime daypart on a daily basis.

Ruby Tuesday appears on Pulse 87 mainly on the weekends (Sunday 7P - 12A) as well as filling in different locations. Her high energy spirit, friendly personna and her on-air professionalism isn't something that should be kept mainly on the weekends. To that, I make a request that Ruby Tuesday goes on the air everyday (on Jewelz' old shift)!

What do you think?

Okay DToTheJ, pan me! :D

I hope that DtotheJ DOESN'T pan you - even though i have yet to figure out how to get Pulse 87 around here... :), I ALWAYS got your back on this stuff, Tony!! :):):)

I have been watching these boards and paying attention to Pulse.. I am just amazed that people know so much about so little....I am sure Pulse has a big surprise tomorrow. About who will or not be on the air.

but see, my dear David, that's part of the "fun, fun, fun" of these Boards - you get the ones who know what they're talking about, like Tony S., mixing in with the regular folk...and it's always interesting to see what ACTUALLY pans out of these things... 8) 8)

I've always respected your opinion Tony, You may be in the Know when it comes to Dance Music but (no offense) this comment tells my you are clueless when it comes to on air talent. I hope this was a sarcastic comment. she may be a decent air talent but as much of a miss match as Star & Buck wild

No offense taken here! :)

Okay, Ruby Tuesday could easily work out for a Lite-FM or Fresh 102.7, she has that pleasant sound. To that I will use the Diane Prior argument here.

When 103.5 'KTU first launched on the air back in 1996, even though their rhythmic format was geared towards the ladies, they did have a few current tracks on. Diane Prior was one of the originals. I forgot where she worked before this (Z-100?) but her voice was pretty similar to how Ruby Tuesday sounds. Diane Prior played dance music on 'KTU. Ruby does it on Pulse 87.

Okay okay, I know Pulse is more dance intensive..no argument there whereas KTU back then was getting away with flirting on A/C. Yet from a dance perspective in regards to radio, we've been accustomed to having that pleasant female voice just after the morning show. Jewelz did it on Pulse, Diane STILL does it on 'KTU. It just seems "natural progression" that Ruby should get the daily afternoon nod on Pulse 87.

She's definitely not off the skew. :)

Has anyone noticed that right on the main page now of the KTU website is the USA Today Rhythmic Top 20 list... not their last 10 anymore, but the national countdown and the info on the site is starting to skew younger and I think it sounds like they've flipped an extra one or two more songs to current leaning Rhythmic tracks each hour... are we starting to see the pendulum swing back and the mix of new and old will favor newer instead of classics... It's KTU, they'll never be all new or all old, but have we come full circle and they survived the lean years and its time to dance and feel good again?

New Dance Content!

And they add more... the "KTU Dance Nation," which bills itself as the "Your Dancetination for New Dance Music." It highlights various dance artists, songs and talks about dance events like the winter music conference.

If nothing else at least its finally a nod or two to the newer music that has been completely avoided in the past 20 months unless it was a big time US pop hit...
