Pulse 87 should tag their songs

Just like La Kalle did (every song they played had a recorded voice saying the title and artist at the very end of the song).... For dance nuts like me, I know every artist/song Pulse plays... but for the average person who may not be familiar with the song and dance artists, it may be a great way to educate them on what theyre listening to since Pulse doesnt RDS...

That would be over kill. I agree that stations need to promote the music better. But every song? Remember the jocks are coming and Joel isnt a dummy

I'm out of the city right now for the next week. Anyway someone can give me a sample play list?

Here are songs I have heard on Pulse:

Mary J Blige - "Just Fine" (Dance remix)... played ALOT
Chris Lake - "Carry Me Away"
Rihanna - Dance remixes of Umbrella and Please Dont Stop the Music
Ida Corr - Let Me Think About It (Fedde Le Grande mix)
Cascada - What Hurts The Most
Enur - Calabria
Alex Gaudino feat Crystal Waters - Destination Unknown
Laura Enea - This is the last time (freestyle)
Some dance remix of a Mick Jagger song
David Guetta - "Baby When the lights go out"
Samim - "Heater"
Filo and Peri - "Anthem"
One Republic - "Apologize" (Lenny B Remix)
Some electro dub of Fergie's Glamorous.
Sean Kingston - Take You There
Dance remixes of Nelly Furtado/Pussycat Dolls
Yves LaRock - Rise Up
Bob Sinclar - "Together"
Dance remake of Journey's "Dont Stop Believing"
Jomanda - "Got a Love for you" (havent heard this jam on radio in ages!)
Britney - "Piece of Me" Dance remix
Some classics like Marshall Jefferson, TKA... but seems a classic is only played once an hour.. or maybe even longer.
Bassment Jaxx - Renedezvous!!!!!!!
Booty Luv

They sound great!

I wonder when they are going to start with streaming. I only can listen to the original Hot 97 and what I hear there it's simular what The Pulse is playing now?

Agreed JayD! 8)

As a dance music fan, I do know the songs on the playlist, including Erika Jayne's "Stars". However, not everyone is on that same level of knowing the songs. Especially when it comes to current material that people know very little, if at all, about. Until the personalities come on, at least do a liner of the song and artist.

That's called clutter and is unnecessary. Once they get their website in order the average fan will have more than enough information to figure out what songs they have heard.

I don't believe that they are currently being monitored by any service. I know that BDS and Mediabase have been asked about monitoring them though no one knows if they will or won't just yet.

As an LP they won't be a monitored station... Also sitting below 92... in the land of Non-Profits & Non-Commercials... I don't think they'll even be mentioned in ratings.

Being a non-commercial doesnt mean you cant be monitored. C89.5 is a monitered station. So is my station Z88.9 we are monitored on media guide. Also non-coms do make Arbitron WXPN and WRTI are in the books in Philly.

Plus, when the PPM is rolled out, non-comms will also be published along with the commercial stations for the 12+ ratings.

Actually, non-commercial stations are measured too, even now, though they are not published in non-PPM markets. You could go to www.rrconline.org and dig around and you'll find ratings for most non-commercial stations across the country.

Is there a link to the story where Arbitron has said that they won't rate Pulse? As of earlier this week them being monitored was still a very real possibility.
