Pulse 87 signal

A few weeks ago, I was at Ulster Landing Park in Kingston, NY with my radio turned on, I picked up "Pulse 87" and it comes in clear, because of the interference with TV audio WRGB channel 6 up in Albany, NY, but "Pulse 87" comes in okay.

i get it as clear as a bell in greenwich. However, my sangean HD tuner is so good that it has a bit of trouble with the signal. you have to remember that we are at sea level and this station might not have any absorption however, as long as the tower clears anything around it trees buildings etc it will be able to go out far. Since there are no mountains and just flat land in the NYC Tri state, we pretty much will all get it.

On another note I really wish 103.5 KTU would be allowed to be able to transmit like 100,000 watts. I know other tri state signals cannot transmit over 6,000 on the empire because of CT/southern NJ-Philly signals. what holds KTU up? 103.7 in NJ?

Haven't tried 87.7, but 103.5 is one of the clearest NYC stations here in New Haven (Hot 97 also very clear).
