PULSE87 Launched...and its DANCE!

Jimi, I'm just in cloud 9 right now...been like that all day since the first song! We're working on a coalition club event for the dance music fans to welcome the station to NYC!

It's going to be win-win for everyone involved with dance music!

tony--dude i'm right here with you
today has been one of the best days EVER
hot 103/97 was in a class all of its own..to pretty much have it resurrected on another frequency, complete with almost identical imaging and jingles is HEAVEN
it's cutting edge music, aggressive imaging...it's THE OLD HOT!@ Joel Salkowitz is a genius, and after today--i can die happy!! besides the unorthodox frequency location..i cant understand why any dance fan would complain about the situation right now. our prayers have been answered!

Tony I'm stoked for you, and for all the other Dance fans in the NYC area - you guys have been waiting for this kind of station and now it's here. Can't wait to listen to Pulse when it starts streaming.

Im happy for you guys in NYC. I thought this station was gonna be a day parted CHR like Z-100, but with a Dance Lean at night. I think thats what alot of us believed. Im glad the station is a true dance station, better than KTU ever thought of being. Im gonna have to make an excuse to visit NYC so I can drive around and listen to the station. If I tell my girlfriend im going to NY to listen to a radio station she will think im crazy. Help me think of an excuse to take her to NY. BTW, I know I said we broke up in a previous post, but we got back together again. Anyway, back on topic, how is the sound quality and processing on the station, does it have good sound quality, not under modulated or anything? Also, if I go to NY, I might as well go out to Long Island and listen to Party while im there, also, might as well go to Philly and listen to Z88.9 and 91.7 WMPH.

I'm going to convince a friend of mine who's hometown is in Connecticut to go with me from NJ. I will offer to pay 100% for gas, and I hope to get stuck in traffic in New York City. I'll hear Pulse and Party 101.5/105.3.

You wont hear Party in NYC unless your up in a High Rise with the windows facing east like Tony. I dont know about the 101.5 signal, but I know you cant really pick up 105.3 past Levittown on most radio's, thats when Power 105.1 starts to splatter over on them.

oh and Midwest Clubber, you wouldn't typically drive in New York City so bring your fm radio walkman!
;)

Here are songs I have heard on Pulse:

Mary J Blige - "Just Fine" (Dance remix)... played ALOT
Chris Lake - "Carry Me Away"
Rihanna - Dance remixes of Umbrella and Please Dont Stop the Music
Ida Corr - Let Me Think About It (Fedde Le Grande mix)
Cascada - What Hurts The Most
Enur - Calabria
Alex Gaudino feat Crystal Waters - Destination Unknown
Laura Enea - This is the last time (freestyle)
Some dance remix of a Mick Jagger song
David Guetta - "Baby When the lights go out"
Samim - "Heater"
Filo and Peri - "Anthem"
One Republic - "Apologize" (Lenny B Remix)
Some electro dub of Fergie's Glamorous.
Sean Kingston - Take You There
Dance remixes of Nelly Furtado/Pussycat Dolls
Yves LaRock - Rise Up
Bob Sinclar - "Together"
Dance remake of Journey's "Dont Stop Believing"
Jomanda - "Got a Love for you" (havent heard this jam on radio in ages!)
Britney - "Piece of Me" Dance remix
Some classics like Marshall Jefferson, TKA... but seems a classic is only played once an hour.. or maybe even longer.

Oh snap - theyre playing Bassment Jaxx - Renedezvous!!!!!!! <<< I would never expect to hear this on radio... well, maybe in 1986 when radio actually played real dance artists.

They sound great!

I'm really feelin' the Mick Jagger song (Charmed Life)
I love how Pulse actually knows what they're programming--they don't program tracks/remixes just because they're on promo only
they've played a couple of remixes I had'nt heard..it's great!!

Thats awesome that they played Jomanda-Got a Love for you.... That was a big song on WHHH Indianapolis back in 91-92....... Another good classic from that era that they should play is Stevie V-Dirty Cash..... Anyone remember that one?

I'm in a high rise with windows facing east and I can't get Pulse or Party... then again I'm on the west side of manhattan so may be I'm just blocked... looks out at the a$$-end of the Time Warner Center!

I'm in the northern Bronx, on the 3rd highest land point in NYC with NOTHING in my way. I can see Long Island...perhaps even a bit of Suffolk. The only "block" I have is Trump Plaza and Avalon in New Rochelle and with those buildings at a distance, they are a non-issue with me pulling in Party 105 from my Accurian HD. I can't get the 101.5 signal though...and not because of NJ 101.5 in Trenton....because I have a DAMN pirate in my way!
