why havent they played anthem *aka* drugs jimi lalumia or dancefloor
i thought they were supposed to be dance and club life
posers!

this person is talking about my 'Anthem" from 2003,not the philo and whoever song of the same name...think the post is an attempt at humour/scarcasm

And yet it went over my head! :D I should have caught the "Dancefloor" clue.

Jimi, I hate to say it but since you've been dishing out the criticisms, the sarcasms were going to come. I kinda backhandedly know what you're trying to do, but still.....not ONE positive thing about the Pulse? (and don't say "it's a good thing I can't get it!")

Tony, I can't hear it on Long Island;
I haven't said anything bad about it, and I did congratulate you and told you to enjoy your moment;
I have utmost respect for Joel, Jimi La Lumia's Record Connection was a key reporting store for Hot 103 back in the day,distributed their weekly surveys and bumperstickers,they used our sales reports among other dance stores to create their playlist, I wish him all the best..but until it streams, I can't hear the station,when I do, I'll coment

I know you did Jimi! :) And thanks!

Well...it's only day 4 and I am sure there are MANY things that have to be addressed (signal, website, stream, audio processing in mono). Heck, if I didn't have a 4 year old child, I'd turn the radio in her room and stream that over via Shoutcast so that people could hear this station.

And as much as I LOVE Party 105, this station may just be a step better.

I think that they sound fantastic. I played them in the office all day and it was great to hear "Proper Education" on the radio here. I was a bit skeptical at first, hearing the Kelly Clarkson remixes, but I've gotten over that.

I have an 18 year old daughter who lives in the Bronx and loves this genre of music. She had no idea of a new station, and last night I told her about it and we listened to it as we drove around. I think that she was even happier than Tony Santiago is about this new station. As every song started she'd yell "OH MY GOD!!"..especially when she heard Bob Sinclar's "Together" and then the remix of "Because the Night" So I'm sure that she's going to spread the word. She has a big mouth and a lot of friends :)

I'm on board too. They sound great and I'm glad that they're finally here.

This is TV channel 6 audio. I don't believe they can use the same technology as standard FM stations for stereo encoding. Perhaps they're stereo on your TV? I'd rather have a mono dance station in town than no dance station. Enjoy it while it lasts!

It's in FM stereo as close to 87.7 as legally possible. I can tell the difference between the two channels. I wish I could stream it but there's too much static on 87.7 here in New Brunswick and I don't get it at all where I live. If someone streams it in shoutcast, I will relay the stream.

I think I may set up a radio-info private pulse stream this weekend...I'm thinking maybe a live chat and stream for a few hours..hopefully the riaa wont arrest me

Tony, If you have a 4 year old daughter...(Which im sure she's and adorable little sweety)... im hoping you are doing your part to expose her to dance music and make her love it. I think you should go ahead and stream it from her radio, at least this way ya know she isnt using her radio to listen to something like Hot 97 or Power 105. Dance music for the most part is good family friendly-kid friendly music. I think Radio Disney, and just Disney, and Nickelodian in general causes kids to act immature and be stuck up, disrespectful, and get involved with child hood boyfriend-Girlfriend way to early in life. So go ahead, and expose the kids to Dance Music when they are young and you have a dance fan for life.... ;)

OMG! You mean to tell me that there is actually someone out there happier than me regarding Pulse? ;D She wouldn't by any chance want a position in the New York Dance Music Coalition, does she?

Backtracking to CHRles, Pulse will start streaming on Monday, February 18th. This comes from CEO Alan Shvarts!

And Mid West...you are SOOOOO right about exposing dance music to the young! There are times I would put on Party 105 and my daughter would jump around and smile as she was "dancing". I would then grab her hands and dance with her and to me, those are the GREATEST moments! Moments that go WAY BEYOND dance music! And yes, I do think a lot of those corporate outlets catering to children should put on more POSITIVE dance music as opposed to those corporate produced "kid groups".

I do have to give credit where credit is due regarding older children...aka: teens....Abercrombie & Fitch. They are the ONLY chain mall store that I know of playing current dance music as background. It may be the deeper underground stuff but compared to the hip-hop at "Against All Odds", the alternative angst rock at "Spencer" and "No Limits" and the cutesy Hannah Montana "pop" at "Libby Lu", it is indeed an escape! And who knows...those may be your current and future dance music fans right there!

Never been too big of a fan of the Dance music played at Abercrombie. Too many circuit anthems and Pop remixes, not enough Dance that actually speaks to teens. Besides, people that go to clubs don't shop for club clothes at Abercrombie. Now places like Armani Exchange, Kenneth Cole, and their likes do play good Dance music. They may not be found at every mall in America, but they're found in all the major club centers (Miami, San Francisco, NYC, L.A., etc.).

LOL...well I will tell her about your Pulse87 site and I'm going to join myself! She is really busy with school, college selection, working, friends, but maybe she can find some time :)

I just signed up Tony, no Dance board is safe from me.....LOL.... ;) :D Anyway, the station is supposed to start streaming tommorow. I just cant wait. I wonder if the stream will come on sometime after midnight, or will it be at 6AM, or later in the day... I hope all goes well and the stream launches on time with no flaws. I will give them time to sort out the bugs if the stream isnt quite up to par at first. It does take awhile to get the stream SQ and reliability dialed in.
