Pump Up the Volume, Bill Turner

What's a going on in Cypress? It sounds like KYND has been running away from me for the last week. Every day the audio seems to get more and more quiet. I'm beginning to have to jump the volume up a couple notches compared to everyone else around it.

Ha! Are you leaving me, Bill? Pump that volume back up, my friend!

Not sure what's going on there. As far as our modulation and processing, it is the same as it has always been. I'm guessing our programmer might not be pushing the same modulation level as in the past. Yesterday we were at a lower power for about 30 minutes around mid-afternoon. For some strange reason sometimes during heavy rain and lightning, the transmitter cuts back and has to be carefully walked back up to full power.

That's interesting. The signal isn't any different, it just doesn't seem to have as loud of audio as it did when you were running music, or with the CRI programming. It sounds like I'm losing volume on myr eceivers at home, more and more each week, and it only seems to be affecting 1520. I wonder if I'm taking on some type of new iterference here at the house, dulling out the signal. I need to check the car radio next time I'm out in it. My truck's Kenwood has horrible AM reception, rendering even the better signals like 610 & 790, a scratchy mess.

It might be the signal we are being sent is not processed to be bold and loud. I know they put in a compeller at their studio but what happens on the way over to us, I'm not sure. We're running good modulation and everything is going through the Optimod on our end.

I checked it in the car, which is a Ford "Mach 1000" premium system that came with it. Hearing the same thing there, Bill. 1560 sounds normal, as does 1480, but 1520 is definitely on a lower audio level than previously utilized. The signal itself is at a level I expect from KYND at my QSL, so I'm not experiencing any issues with picking it up, only that it's getting harder and harder to hear the programming. It's been rather gradual, not like something was recently installed, causing the audio output to suddenly drop. Not sure what's causing the issue I've been having, but I thought I'd mention it.

Maybe I'm simply going tone deaf in the range of 1520 kilocycles, lol.

Maybe it's an equipment problem? If so hopefully it can be fixed without too much money and/or the engineer's time.

No, now talking with Bill, I don't believe its on his end. Only way to really tell for sure is to halt Synergy's programing feed and go live from the studio...and I kind of doubt the lease agreement would allow for something like that.

Bill is your transmitter set up for MDCL "Modulation dependent carrier level" control which might effect Modulation, Are You using a external Modulation monitor. or the AUI internal monitoring.

I have no idea. Our engineer would know. I'm thinking adjustments have been made at our client's student. I monitor the transmitter daily and everything is looking perfect per the transmitter.
