Q 104.3 Marketing Has Already Responded

Q 104.3 has already responded.

Type in K-Rock and you get a sponsored ad for TheRockOfNewYork.com (it sends you to q104) with one of the following taglines:

TheRockOfNewYork.com
Real rock lovers know that there's only ONE rock of New York!
Real rock lovers know that there's only one REAL rock of New York!
The rock of New York is back? It never went anywhere, baby!
The rock of New York? You know where to find it...

Sounds like they ARE in fact posturing...should be an interesting year...

Maybe Q104.3 Will Go WMMR (AOR) considering their newfound dominance, and that Q isn't exactly a ratings explosion (2.9-3.1). Get Pierre Robert over there too.

Q104.3 tends to "respond" to new stations in the area. I remember having Q104.3 on Jack FM's first weekend and they had a liner "Playing What You Want".

To this day, there is still the occasional liner citing that phrase.

It sounds like the work of PD Bob Buchmann.
I remember when he was PD at WBAB, and WAPP went to a CHR format in the Fall of '84. They ran a promo something to the effect of:

"On [insert date here], the wapp went wimp. What are we gonna do about it? We're gonna keep rocking your a$$e$ off!"

Please, Q had all this time to do something while K-rock was off the air. They did nothing to bring new rock to the airwaves. Rock, i think not, unless your 55. The Rock of NY is BACK! ..... Think about it Bob. No Competition, Prove me wrong. I'm sure you could go back to the pure rock days of 104, and give Krock a little competition.
