Q-105 Flipping? Not to beat a dead horse but...

Since the rumor keeps popping up that Q-105 is flipping, to the point where the OM over at CC has to break "radio silence" to throw water on the notion, I just thought a quick check couldn't hurt. After all, why would he even bother-especially since the boss would normally go into apoplectic spasms if he thought his Ops manager was posting any kind of info in a public forum. So I just asked one of the PD's at another of their stations. He seemed to think they were going to do something because a few things seemed to be dropping into place with some in-house speculation about the possibility. They said they really got suspicious late last week when the Q-105 remote van was sent to the shop where they get their graphics done. That said, they are probably just scraping some of that hippie, peace and love/bath-tub vinyl to update it a bit.
So to sum up- Who Knows? My primary concern would be that they would put a format that actually attracts listeners. They can make "revenue budget" and blow all the smoke they want up the derriere of their masters in Austin, TX- Just please, please, please, keep doing what you are doing and don't use that big 100kw stick to put the hurt on somebody. Just keep settling for the leftover bits and stay in your place. WJDS-AM needs the company.

P.S. I got a big laugh re-reading the lawsuit that the Feds filed back in 1998 to prevent Capstar from buying the holdings of SFX in several markets-including what is basically the CC Jackson group today. The government's position was that it would be unfair to advertisers for one company to control so many stations since they could just gang up and raise prices that advertisers would have to pay. Someone should send those lawyers a link to the "10 dollars a holler" string on this forum from a few months ago...
