Who will replace Marvin from 10am-3pm? I hope NOT Rico Blanco(NOTHING AGAINST HIM)! My choice would be Dr Chuck Stevens. Legends like Marvin Boone should NEVER be FIRED(radio legends RETIRE NOT be FIRED)! Even though I DJ at 1620am WBUL(USF Student Radio Station),I could NEVER do Middays! I someday want to just have my voice heard on Q 105 via VT! Cheers Dr Johnny P LoveTrain-Host of Top 40 Classics at 1620am WBUL! 8) ???

fat chance of that happening dr. johnny p........

Marvin's firing is a real loss to Q105. It's a symptom of the slow demise of terrestrial radio as we have known it.

OK---------WHo is MsMusicRadio?

1) Ms. Bobby Rich
2) Ms. Marvin Boone
3) Keri Kirkland
4) Sarah Palin
5) Rhonda Storms
6) Amy Newman
7) None of the above
8) Parttimers female avatar
9) All of the above
10) Susan Stanton

No joke, Q105 needs to get a woman DJ into the daily line-up. They might have the only all male roster in town. Don't listen to every station , so can't say for sure. And like I said , you can pay us less and we work twice as hard.

Well they just had their chance to do that but they missed out. I'm referring to a very talented former Q105 midday female jock who was just let go across the hall last week.

You do realize that CBS cannot go out and hire someone new for this position unless they want to get slapped with an age discrimination suit? They have to show the job/position was eliminated.

So I guess they won't be pulling someone out of line at WorkNet Pinellas and offering them are job at $6.75 an hour?

i was driving through orlando a few weeks back, cbs cluster over there has sunny, orlando's greatest hits......just simulcast the stations - sounds like they play mostly the same songs - and substitute orlando's greatest hits for tampa bay's greatest hits. No jocks needed.....more jobs eliminated. More vacation homes and bonuses for the CBS bigwigs.

Don't they have female week-enders? Should have kept one of them from WSJT

Don't they have a female DJ on week-ends and they used to have some ex-MIXers. CBS could just do like Scott Shannon and have WCBS or K-Earth repeated across the country and they only need one staff for the whole format. Maybe keep one live show in each town for promotions like the morning guy on WJQB. Seems like CC is heading this way with the CHR format. You have a Ryan Seacrest network and the Kane mini-network. Why not the Bob Shannon and Pat St.John network? Saves money I guess.

Are you kidding? Do you think CBS would ever pay such an outlandish rate per hour? They are looking for someone who will work for free range chickens and Twinkies!

Wouldn't the cheapest think be to just turn all the CBS classic hits stations into repeaters for WCBS or KRTH? One set of jocks on a network just like the 'Breakfast Club" or Arthur Godfrey on radio. Everything old is new again.

I'm not saying I like this, but Sirius isn't local. Why does FM even need to pretend to be local? You can get your news online. I heard WSJT on in the background somewhere and it sounded the same. Most people I know don't even know the difference. I think downsizing sucks having been downsized twice, but I honestly think nobody outside of radio employees and radio geeks even care.
