as Q-101.7-WQYQ!!! Not a particularly surprising development, since WNYQ was performing very well, in the north country, with its Classic Hits format. WQYQ is the former WENU-FM. WNYQ is being moved into the Albany market in the near future.....
WENU: those calls leave almost 23 years to the day since the singlewide went up in that field off NY 149. Never intended to be the hippest station in town; preferring to let the competiton turn loose their "talents"...gave some jocks their first commercial on-air experience...would also be charitable to some of those whos "talent" shouldnt have got them more than a weekend gig, but hey.....charity hurts sometimes.
I am going aircheck the station tonight. I did an aircheck of WNYQ back in May of 2005. I got 120 maxell tapes. I am also going to do an aircheck of WFFG, WFLY.
