Q 106.1 Tallahassee is now 106.1 The Path

Tallahassee's former oldies station Q106.1 is now 106.1 The Path After 16 days of stunting will All-Beatles, WQTL debuted its new format at 11am today as a Classic Rock/AAA hybrid
Music is rooted in the 70s and early 80′s but reaches into the 60′s and 90′s.

"The Path" sounds like it would be the name of a religious station. I went to their website and noticed Jimmy Buffet is on the playlist... so the format just might work. Wonder if they'll do all music and not much talk in the mornings? I'd also think they'd need to give the format at least a couple of years to mature and work out the kinks to develop the true "Tallahassee sound". Does Opus have the money and patience? Too bad for me the signal doesn't do well north of Quincy where I spend all my time. They'd be pulling listeners away from WGLF, WVFS and WXSR. What format is 99.9 doing now a days?

I got to quit posting on these boards. I gotta go pee!

"Hey man! Is that 'Freedom Rock'?!......"

"...well turn it up man!"

But seriously, Tallahassee isn't too far from Mobile, Alabama and Nashville,TN. If they look to the old school and pay close attention to 92 ZEW and Lightning 100 for inspiration they may just be able to pull this off. Do I expect them too? No, but it's nice that someone's trying a AAA like format in Tallahassee.
Most of the new AAA leaning stations popping up are just a AAA form of Jack... that ain't too cool. AAA hasn't really taken off in Florida, but luckily Tally ain't like most of Florida.
