Q-95 question

Veerrry early Wednesday morning (3:30 - 5am), I was listening to Q-95. I became very puzzled. First JimBo was gone, only to replaced (CC at its finest) by a voice track that was so generic, he didn't mention the calls, read only national stories, etc. The only time Q-95 was mentioned was coming out of stop sets with Q's voice guy.

Once upon a short time ago, they ran liner that said "In all the world, there's only one...". Unfortunately, it sounds like a bad automation from the '80's.

the Q is losing listners by the day.. i listened to q95 all the time now more often i listen to 1045 at least they are local.. they need ace and jimbo and brian casey back or at least bring jay baker and put him on weekdays

I see that you saw the ratings too...is 5.6 a modern day low 12+ for them?

Brian Casey is still on the air at Q95, he is still doing traffic mornings and afternoon. I believe Jimbo is a employee of the Bob and tom show, he is still there, I hear tom reference him being there seemingly every day. He may not be on the air anymore tho.

I'm not hearing on-air talent as much as the 22 ads per hour in two 11 ad long stopsets. Same thing on X.

What happened to "less is more"?

no i have not seen the ratings.. its just what iv heard..where can you see the ratings?
Right here on Radio-Info. New ones came out just a few days ago. Look under Wi '09.

WIBC's move to FM has them in the #2 spot. If they'd turn Hank into a competitive younger based country station & not an old gold based country, they'd knock WFMS down enough to put WIBC in first place.

My results file goes back to spring 2002:

2002 SP SU F 9.4 7.9 8.5
2003 W SP SU F 9.2 8.6 8.7 9.6
2004 W SP SU F 9.0 9.1 9.0 8.6
2005 W SP SU F 8.3 7.1 8.8 8.1
2006 W SP SU F 7.5 7.1 7.3 7.0
2007 W SP SU F 8.1 6.6 6.2 7.0
2008 W SP SU F 6.6 6.7 6.2 6.9
2009 W 5.6

You would likely have to go back to the early days of Q95 "The Album Station" (1978) to find a lower 12+ result.
I probably have the Indianapolis News R.K. Shull clipped columns with those results somewhere...

How much of the audience erosion could be attributed to the loss of the Colts? I think the Colts brought a lot of people (men) who were not normal Q95 listener, to the station?

Should be very limited. Last Colts game aired on the Q was the Super Bowl in 2006, and the ratings slide has been more recent than that.
