Q and R

I have always thought Quinn and Rose are terrible. Therefore, I do not listen. I ignore their existence. But, lately I've been bombarded with phone calls and myspace messages from various confidants who have expressed their strong distaste for this show. It goes beyond right or left. They're just annoying. I told my friends, "Im not sure who listens, but sadly there are people out there who do." As to why, I just don't understand.

it appears that what Q & R do have is advertisers, ratings ,a halfway decent website and an audience for their content.

all things that a station like WGPA could use

The Feminazi, Soccer Mom, dingbat said she will not patronize any business that voted for Obama on friday. This is one of the most irresponsible, ignorant statements I have ever heard on the radio

If you don't listen, how would you know if they're terrible or not? Apparently you also do not ignore their existence, you even went as far as posting here about them - even though you don't listen.

They're very popular here in Pittsburgh where they originate. If they didn't have the ratings your little station there in Berks County would have taken them off the air. Same with Sirius and any other syndicated market outside of Pittsburgh.

First off, the station that broadcasts Q and R around here is in LEHIGH COUNTY and is on WAEB AM 790. It is not a little station. (check Radio Locator).

Second of all, the program is rebroadcast in the evening, many hours later, which just doesn't make sense. A lot of news has happened already by the time this show airs.

Third of all, VERY FEW PEOPLE in the Lehigh Valley would want to lose an AM morning legend around here, Gunther.
He puts his heart and soul into his program, and his dedication and loyalty to the Lehigh Valley is something that no syndicated program could ever match.

I am not putting down Q and R. They just do not belong on WAEB in my opinion.

I lived in Lancaster Co. most of my life but the past 12 years have been in Pittsburgh. Forgive me that I've never heard of WAEB, but I took a guess that it might be a Berks Co. station. Thanks for YELLING to me that it is LEHIGH VALLEY since I am SO STUPID and wouldn't know where WAEB is located.

I was simply pointing out that Q&R are extremely popular here in Pittsburgh, and Jim Quinn has quite a story to tell. Heck, some of you might remember him at WKBW in Buffalo back many years ago. I'm not sure why WAEB would put them on at night either, but again, if it wasn't getting ratings, wouldn't that mean no sponsors and no more Q&R in LEHIGH County?

Nobody is more nauseating than Bobby Gunther Walsh. He is a whiny, right wing apologist who at the moment is salivating over the latest weather trends. Now, he can be heard sniveling in an arrogant fashion about Global Warming. "Where's Al Gore?" Ha, Ha, Ha! His interview with that Saunders jabrony was difficult to stomach. Some guy who called went as far as to call Al Gore an #. This just showed the intelligence level of these hillbillies who hang on BGW's every word. BGW did not admonsih the caller. He pretty much agreed. And, todays love fest with the State Theatre. Enough! They could do so much better with bringing better shows to the area. It is the same old safe, boring, stuff. Kenny Rogers? Come on! This guy has'nt done anything good since Ruby Don't Take Your Love Town." Alright, the Superman song is very good, but on a whole the guy is a hack. And, Operation Snowflake? Enough!

Well, if that is your opinion, fine.... you are entitled to it.

I do not share that opinion.

Do you hear anything much different day in and day out on Rush, Hannity, or Q and R---- or any other AM station?

Maybe you don't like what you are hearing because there is truth in what is being said.

If you think Gore created global warming is a reality, that is your problem.

Since you are listening, you too must be one of those hillbillies that you referred to.

Gunther is at best a survivor, in that he's been around since before AM stations began the big switch to talk after years music. The fact that he's probably still the good side of 60 (right? I'm figuring about 55) + his relationships with ResQ and their ilk spare him from much worse a fate from the gang in San Antone.

Q&R are there because (1) Savage is too much for folks to take early evening here and (2) they don't want to shoot the ranch on Fox Snooze's piddling talk lineup.
