Q and the Bone

Do you all still think The Bone took Q105's audience ? Will WYUU move to 104.7 and 92.5 go sports? Enquiring minds want to know. Or "Intelligence for your life"!

Not sure of either. Q is touting its 35th anniversary, and it doesn't sound like a wake. Doubt they'd be involved in any changes....at least till next year

Q and the bone

The playlists for the Q and The Bone have about six songs in common tops. We know why the bone's ratings went up - bubba. The garbage about the sports station going to FM is nuts. CBS spends zero dollars on the sports format, why would they push it to fm? If you bothered to read the ratings the Q actually went up some from last book. Get your facts straight!

yet another uninformed post.

I agree Music Man. I think the bigger issues with this trend are:

1. The slight dip at the Bone happened, but FLZ didn't rebound from Bubba & Company's debut. How long does that trend last for FLZ and how soon before we hear Ryan Seacrest on the air outside of the top 40 countdown?

2. The Rays are playing great, the Lightning and Bucs are making news, and DAE gets that kick in the teeth? Lucky for them 1470 and 1010 didn't even show up (again). If two AM stations can't figure out how to take advantage of a weak 620, I doubt anyone will try to do it on FM.

3. What gives with WYUU? This is Outlaw 92.5 territory... does CC try to eliminate them with Spanish on 100.7 or 97.9?

Of course it's all just a trend. We'll find out the real story in 30 days!

My origional post about the Bone killing Q was meant to be "thought provoking" based on an earlier thread that hailed Bubba's return as the best thing since sliced bread and somehow a direct threat to Mason.

Since 92.5 is aimed at the Puerto Rican/Caribbean audience, the logical move for anyone trying Spanish on FM would be to come in with a format aimed at a Mexican audience. There would be very little overlap and both would have their niche. That makes more sense than battling 92.5 in the salsa-merengue arena and leaving the other large Hispanic bloc untouched.

Nevermind... I wasn't thinking. I forgot it's already on AM 820... which leads us back to the possible agreement that exists between Mega and Clear Channel.
