Q Country 104.9

Hmm...so They took the KRQX calls from 1590? I guess that would make 104.9 KRQX-FM. What happened to the good ol' days of Jim's Crispy Fried Chicken in my mouth and "Kicks 105" on my radio?

I thought that 104.9 had tried to target Waco as a rimshot R&B station. What happened to that?

...and from the "what the hell" pages, when did Mexia get a Taco Bell? Drove through town the other day, (first time I've been to Mexia in years) going to Fairfield and saw it. Quite odd to see that monsterous Wal-Mart in what used to be an open field. Is that the only one serving Limestone and Freestone counties? That thing is massive even compared to the ones down here in Houston.

R&B/Urban on 104.9 was only a stunt. Their first attempt at being a Waco rimshot was "George FM - We Play Anything Country"...basically a Jack-FM that plays country...jockless...claiming no consultants, no repetition, not the same 40 songs over and over, etc.

Whoever was calling the shots apparantely had never been to Waco. Market leader WACO-FM may have the biggest and broadest playlist in the state. I am often surprised by some of the songs I hear on WACO 100.

Now, "George" is Q104.9...new and current Country with no gold....and a couple of jocks (last time I listened).
