Q-Mix in Columbus

Jimbo of Q-Mix has stated that nobody wanted to hear about Bruce and Mitzi's 100 watt
ipod (WHUM). Yet almost 5000 have viewed that thread.

Now the challenge! Let's see how many want to read and coment on Q-Mix?

Too busy doing real radio to waste a day hitting refresh on a web browser ???

I'm not posting to this to comment about Q mix because I've found Columbus radio to as boring as this thread. The number one station in Columbus for the past 2 years has been WRZQ, which is live in the morning and voicetracked and boring the rest of the day. Where does that leave WHUM with a cume of less than 1/50th that of WRZQ?
And I don't think Jim Burgan ever posted anything about WHUM, but I will comment about the 5,140 views that the WHUM thread has accrued. That makes it the single-most read thread in the history of Radio-Info's Indiana board. The second-place winner was the thread about Talk Radio On FM, which generated less than half the views as the WHUM thread.
Considering the content of the WHUM thread and the number of replies, something is way out proportion here.
My guess is that jezus1stjinglepimp is right.

Jim is a great guy...and he sounds awesome on QMIX! This coming from a guy who is still loyal to the Heminger family 'cross town. My only knock on Jim is that he's a Cubs fan!

63 days since the WUHM topic started
5200 hits average 83 hits a day

One day only for this topic
Already over 300 hits :D

Our passion for Q-Mix is unequalled ;D

Lighten up, it's just radio. Don't mean nothin'

As a former Reising Radio Partner I gotta comment and show some support. As for Jimbo on the radio, that man has probably forgotten more about Indiana radio and broadcasting in general then most of us hope to know. Jim's one of the best.

Here's a hint :D
Next alias, skip the hyphen :p

Jezus1stjinglepimp.. You really are the man.
I thought I was a genius for catching that one too.
I agree that Jimbo's ok. My earlier post was more of a rant on voicetracked radio than Jim.
There's an aircheck of him on WMYQ floating around on Reel Radio or MP3Airchecks from about 1975, doing the Q format.
It's a shame he's finishing his career in the Columbus graveyard.

Jim is the man.

Why do you think Columbus is a graveyard? We're doing some great radio here.

Columbus has great radio for a town it's size. In fact, some of the best I've heard. WRZQ does a good job with it's morning show and coverage of community events. I like QMIX.

As the biggest fan in the world of Jimbo on the Radio, I rush to his defense.
I shall mobilize the masses to post on his behalf after being challenged.
It's the battle of WHUM and QMIX.
Hum, I always thought the battle was between QMIX and WKKG.
My name is Tina Delgato, an I'm alive and and I Love My QMIX!!!!!

Q-Mix is the closest thing to true PERSONALITY/ALL-HIT Radio that is left in our part of the country... I would give my left tonsil to do a gig at a station like that, again.. I might be too old (we middle aged hit jocks are lost on the streets of America..).... Not slow.. Not over narrowcasted.. Not too loud.. Pep, Pop and A-Rockin' like we had in Carbondale, IL in the heyday of "Rockinradio/CIL-FM".....

"Tina Delgato" is alive and is a Jimbo fan.
Absolutely hilarious.

Being a former member of the radio community in Columbus, just have to chime in. I have alot of respect for the Reising group. They really seem to get themselves out in the community as much as possible and it shows. Jimbo and Dave has many years of experience and do alot in helping those stations move onward and upward. That being said, it would be nice of the stations could go back to being live 24/7. Alot of people in this market remember the days of stations really being in the community and being able to have someone in the studio and answer the phone when they called, but alas it is all about money and the bottom line. It is a shame that radio has come to that point, especially in the smaller areas where people really became attached to their stations and the people on the air. Small market radio used to be the best radio in the world because of the relationship between the station and the community. And it is my belief that maybe one day it will go back to that.

I've been working with Jimbo for too many years to count...he's a good egg. Like many in radio, he's overworked & probably underpaid, but he loves radio & he Loves His QMIX! This is probably not the "deepest" posting on this thread, but I had to add my 2 cents worth to help get Jimbo on his/QMIX's way to the 5000 views mark...GO QMIX!

CJ and dawn are not married though they act like it some time.
CJ got married last summer in a much publicized ceremony to someone he calls Poopsie.
Last I heard Dawn was dating a fireman.
Since I am Jimbo's biggest fan I ought to know his marital status but I don't.
