Q100 Adam Bomb 1/30/07

According to Rodney Ho's blog, he played Timbaland/Nelly Furtado/Justin Timberlake - "Give It To Me" 22 times in a row last night, supposedly going so far as to lock himself in the studio because he loved it so much. Why, I don't know.

In that those studio doors have no locks, I'd suspect Ol' Rod got tooken for a promotional ride. Unless they have decided to cut holes and fit locks in $3K soundproof doors. New twist to an old stunt, methinks.

Sounds like it....I haven't heard anyone do that since Ice Ice Baby came out in 1989/1900'ish....ahh, the good old days.

My assessment of Mr. Ho's pieces are that he is very often the shill for a great deal of corporate propoganda, either willingly or unknowingly. Take, for instance, the Star94 "everybody's been fired" stunt last fall, his seemingly beint tipped off at to when Clear Channels was going to pull the plug on Lite FM (I mean, he was there with a stopwatch). He's entertaining, but certainly not credible.

Thank you Mr. Two posts.

The "DJ locks himself in studio and plays same song over and over while management tries to knock down door" STUNT started at least 40 years ago. And has been done at least half a dozen times. IN EVERY MARKET.

To post about that as though is was possibly real does make Rodney look a bit like a chump. I don't mind the bit, but come on, we all know the real deal... Sorry Rodney, but sometimes you have to be a little more scetical and not just take DJs and PDs at their word. It is all entertainment, but they aren't going to admit to you when the stunts are fake. Calls on the Bert Show for instance....War of the Roses was always 100% actors on the other end of the phone. That's how its done in every market. To be in the media and believe that those things are real is just plain gullible.

Just to be clear...nobody's questioning the fact that he did play the song over 20 times in a row, right? Their daily log on Mediabase shows the song 24 times in a row between 8:04 and 9:25 PM Tuesday. How silly, LOL.

I remember just a couple of years ago when J.J. Jackson "locked" himself in and played nothing but Beatles songs for something like 3 days when Cool 105.7 went oldies. Of course it was all voice-tracked.
