The bert show made the announcement friday that they no longer were getting free perks from disney for their yearly charity trip. They will be notching up the begging (think PBS fundraising sprinkled with sick kids and their families).It was a suprise to learn that Disney was providing discounts and free stuff for the charity trip, not because it was a good cause but it was in return for advertisement in its number 3 market (Atlanta). Bert mentioned that Disney was no longer making payments directly to stations but would work with networks in a more general way...

Perhaps this is a real world example of payola backlash.
