Last Wednesday afternoon, I was listening to Q100 as I pulled off I-85 onto Jimmy Carter Boulevard. As I approached the exit, Q100 started to come in and out. When I turned onto Jimmy Carter, WSSL-FM in Greenville overtook Q100.
On a winter day, I've heard Q100 loud and clear at Gwinnett Place Mall. At the same location on a summer day, WSSL alone came in.
But Jimmy Carter Boulevard is awfully close in to lose an FM station that transmits from downtown Atlanta. That was the day when (formerly Hurricane) Cindy's effects were approaching. That probably had something to do with it.
I'm anxious for Q100's deal with WSSL to get approved by the FCC, and for Q100 to increase its power. Based on its programming, Q100 deserves higher ratings than it's been pulling.
