Q100 Part of Payola Probe?

Rodney Ho, Please check into this. It's my understanding from deep within the bowels of Susquhannnnaaaa that the lawyers are preparing a response to Elliot Spitzer's report. Why? Because their Atlanta station, Q100, took payola (a trip to see John Mayers) in exchange for airing a song over 50 times a week.

Are there other stations in Susquhannnnaaaa Atlanta that took Payola?

Are there other stations in Atlanta that defrauded the public?

Rodney Ho: investigator of all things radio, put your headphones on and get out your junior reporters'notebook. NEWSTEAM! ASSEMBLE!

Q100 appears to be the only Atlanta station mentioned, but they're all mostly referred to by calls (actually, Q100 is the only station referred to by its slogan as well as its calls), so I could have missed a passing reference.

If I'm reading these memo's correctly, then WSTR which is Star 94 has been mentioned a couple of times...I haven't found anything in the way of them taking trips yet, just reporting spins...Also doesn't or didn't Star 94 run Open House Party?<P ID="signature">______________

Their prescense in the emails you read isn't because they are being accused of payola, they're listed because they were giving songs that were being discussed airplay. Kind of like the ads for songs you see in the radio trades where they show what stations are spinning them.

yeah, q100 must have played that john mayer song just to get some
concert tickets! I mean it's Atlanta - who would play John Mayer just
because it was GOOD???

people - if you don't know what the information means, don't guess.

Interestingly enough, these stations mentioned in the e-mails were CHR/Top 40 stations......I wonder what may come of Columbia's possible dealings with Rock and Urban stations?
