Q100 pays your (small) bills

The contest winner this morning on The Bert Show for "Pays Your Bills" had a Chase card, she asked if they were going to pay the whole thing (the entire balance), and Bert quickly responded that no, just this month. What was the caller expecting? It's Cumulus people! lol

The contest is sponsored by a local credit union (who I'm assuming is the one fronting the cash).

Radio One's HOT 107.9 is doing the same contest. I believe they pull 3 letters a day that listeners mail in requesting assistance. They have 10 minutes and 7 seconds to call in once their name is drawn (HOT's lines stay busy). The most HOT 107.9 will pay is up to $1,000.

The morning mess has a better promtion. An iPhone a day vs. paying the minimum on a credit card bill. Even with a $10,000 credit card bill it is a whoppihng $200.

An iPhone is a pretty cool prize. I never understood radio giving away iPods. I know they are cool and what everyone wants but, when all the radio people are complaining about loosing listeners to mp3 players, why would you put them in the hands of the listeners you haven't lost yet?
