Q100 & Star 94 - Dueling Sunday Morning Countdowns

I noticed yesterday that Q100 has added Weekend Countdown with Billy Bush on Sunday mornings opposite American Top 40 with Ryan Seacrest on Star 94.

I doubt this will really affect ratings for either Q100 or Star. Maybe it's meant to keep Q listeners from straying to Star on Sunday mornings by giving them a countdown.

This is part of the package that has Billy Bush on weekday evenings on Q100. Q100 already has a full Sunday with Bert Weiss' local countdown show and Radio Twist. Saturday morning sounds like the only other time, and since Star 94 has AT40 on Sunday mornings...

Q100 had also been carrying the FOX All-Access Countdown with Chris Leary on Sunday mornings from 7-9. I don't know whether Billy Bush's countdown starts at 7, 8 or 9. (When he was at WAVA in Washington, he was "Rick Lear Jet O'Leary.")

Sunday morning is such a dead time for listening anyway.

I wonder if any of them will ever pick up Rick Dees Weekly Top 40 ever again? I know Star dropped him last October and put Dawson Mcallister in his place. I would bet if the Bull flips back to AC after Christmas that it will most definitely pick back up Casey Kasem's American Top 10.

I did a ton of driving this past weekend and in my travels got to hear Rick Dees out of Savannah. His show is very slick and well put together, and Rick himself sounds great.

Kudos to Rick and his team on maintaining the quality of the show all the while keeping it fresh sounding.
