Q101 Chicago aircheck Christmas Eve 1986

This brings back memories of the Q101 of the 80s. Also, there was a post of B96 in 1986. Wow, both stations were much better then.
What I really miss was that music of that time. Today's music sucks by comparison. Too bad we don't have an oldies station focused on the 1980s.

I have just posted a fun aircheck of Q101 Chicago in the 5 AM hour on Christmas Eve 1986 on YouTube. The DJs are Carla Leonardo, ending her shift and Dan Walker filling in for Murphy in the Morning. For much of the 80s, Q101 had a Hot AC/Top 40 hybrid format as heard here.

It seems almost like the music mix on B96 was more urban even then but less upbeat.
