In all parts othe city? Even on small radios? And what about the big, even huge metro area? I bet there's vast parts north of Philly where people have a hard time picking up STW. Either that or the station really sucks by Philly standards...how else would you exaplin their ULTRA LOW ratings in the Philly books?

Lisa's cool. She's sweet, and that's how she sounds on the air. She did middays over at 93.3 FLZ Tampa before becoming part of the Q-102 staff.

It has issues near the antenna farm, but then again so do WMMR & WRNB.

It also has issues near Liberty One, but then again so do WIOQ/WYSP/WMGK/etc.

WSTW's signal in the Philly metro is about on-par with that of 94.5 WPST & 101.5 WKXW.

WSTW does no marketing at all to Pennsylvania or New Jersey, that's what keeps the ratings down.

WSTW is capable of getting low to mid 2s in the Philly book, if Delmarva Broadcasting wanted to. Instead WSTW is making a killing in Delaware.

LMAO

Doesn't matter how many _____________ you put in there, I still could tell you who the new afternoon jock at WIOQ / Philadelphia is... seeing as how he used to be my roommate and I still owe him $200 in rent! :)

PST always gets around a 1.5 share. Never seen STW do that.

They should continue to make a killing in Delaware, but why not get a piece of the Philly pie as well?! Let's see market number 6 versus market "number a lot less significant"...Gee, I wonder where there's a LOT more money to be made?

Re: Q102

They certainly have the signal to. The WPST signal covers a few more Philly market residents because of NE Philly, but there's no reason WSTW couldn't get a 1-share. WSTW even has an edge over PST northwest of Philly because WDAC interferes with PST on 94.5 now.

The station has just never paid attention to anywhere but Delaware. WSTW mentions Dover (45 miles away) more than they mention West Chester (10 miles away). And I practically never hear them mention New Jersey, even though they put a nice signal into Salem and Gloucester counties. Even though they cover 3 states nicely, STW has always positioned itself as "Delaware's Choice For Hit Music". Either they think they can't compete in Philly or they just have no desire to.

I like STW's current format, but would love to see them copy PST's successful regional formula instead of just concentrating on one state.

I actually really like Rob Acampora on WSTW. It's not a typical CHR show, but it's refreshing to hear a night show that isn't just teenagers and hot-girl check-ins. He's figured out how to get an adult audience listening and actually participating in a night show that isn't just pointless dedications. That's no small feat. Outside of NJ101.5, I can't think of any area station that's been successful at that.

The show itself is weird. I like the music but the jock-***-host is quite corny and sometimes I can't take it anymore. Also, I don't know what's with that "A Game" monicker. Does anyone know what is up with that? LOL. But the show certainly is interesting.

And you're absolutely right about holding onto an adult audience while still getting decent phoners and stuff. That is impressive. (Although the phone bits often tend to go on for too long, IMHO.) I guess WSTW is making money hand-over-fist which must be why they don't give a tiny little rat turd about the atrocious processing.

"A Game"

Agreed; if he would make his topics just a *liiittttlleee* bit more interesting, and as E./Balls pointed out, edit them down better (and know when to end them); he'd get an A.

It's a sports term. Playing up to your potential is "bringing your A game". I never gave it a second thought, but now that you mention it, it probably goes over the head of about half the audience.
